Over the last year and half or so, we have been inundated (in a good way in my opinion) with fragrances, from the most high end "designer" (American/European) brands, to the Arabian fragrance invasion. We are seeing fragrance reviews everywhere.
But what about local? Did you know that we have a variety of perfumes, body sprays and other fragrances made in Trinidad and Tobago? I have tried my fair share of them and let me tell you, they smell amazing and last long. These are some of what I currently use and enjoy.
Alchemist Fragrances

| My love affair with Alchemist Fragrances started in 2022 when an ad for their perfumes came across my Facebook feed. Since then, they've expanded their selection to dozens of scents, both male and female. What I do enjoy about their business (outside of the amazing long lasting scents) is their discovery sets, where you get to try travel sizes in their collections, that way you can explore several scents in one go, then order the full size after. Amore Luxuries

| Amore's Fleur was the first local perfume that I ever tried it did not disappoint. I still have it four years later and it still smells just as rich This brand is the reason I started looking more into locally made fragrances in the first place. Now they do sell other non perfume things that aren't locally made, however if you get hands on their fragrances, you'll be in for a treat. Facebook ▪ Instagram |
Bliss Collective

| Out of Tobago, Bliss Collective is one of those brands that has embraced being more eco conscious in their product and packaging. I initially started using their lotions and body oils, so when they launched their fragrances last year I ran so quick to The Fashion Arch Gallery to purchase and few. They smell so good. And maybe it's my nose, or maybe it's them, but with each new batch or collection, the scents last longer and longer. I'm not complaining though. Facebook ▪ Instagram |
Immortelle Beauty

| The OG!! The way I am low key obsessed with this brand! From their immensely moisturising body butters, to their spray oils. Don't get me started on the body illuminators. The love I have for Immortelle Beauty knows very little bounds. That said, they launched body sprays in November, which means you have another way to smell like their signature products. You can wear this body spray on its own, or layer it. The plan for this year is get more into layering because I haven't experimented layering fragrances before. Infuse Pure Therapy

| Infuse Pure Therapy is the G.O.A.T. when it comes to all things essential oil blend related. One of the first things ever got from them was their 'Ease d tension' blend for headaches, which is so therapeutic. I also had the pleasure of a doing an aromatherapy session with them. They launched Contessa di Fiori late last year for their tenth anniversary. It is a solid perfume, made with a blend of essential oils that makes it a bit sweet and spicy, and is perfect for someone who may not be able to wear traditional fragrances due to sensitivities. Ray Scents
Ruupa

| Went for their candles, stayed for their skin care. These body mists also lean towards light and refreshing, which can work well for layering. One thing I've noticed about their scents (at least for me), is that their scents seem to be unisex, so anyone can wear them Facebook ▪ Instagram |
Sheer Burst

| Came across their body mist on a quick to The Fashion Arch Gallery. I use this on my body as well as on my clothing on the days I don't feel like wearing perfume. Similar to other body mists, I reckon this can be used for layering as well. Facebook ▪ Instagram ▪ TikTok |
With so many local fragrances in my line up, along with the Arabian fragrances in my collection (thank you Sheri), I may have to put myself on a no-buy for 2026. Will I stick to it? Time will tell. Have you tried any of these or know of any other local fragrance lines worth checking out? Send your recommendations my way!
Regards,
Tshenelle aka Nelly B.
